Poulet Braisé (Ivorian Grilled Chicken) Recipe

Poulet Braisé (African Grilled Chicken) Recipe

A tasty meal including attiéké, poulet braisé, and Ivorian salad.

I love this recipe so much, because of the spices and the way it is cooked.  This chicken is my favorite.  It is mouth-watering, delicious, Ivorian Grilled Chicken.

Country of Origin:  Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire)

Serves: 7

Ingredients

3 whole chickens, cut up

For the marinade:
9 cloves of garlic, pureed
a pinch of black pepper powder
2 tsp chili powder or 15-20 fresh, red habañero chilies, pureed (adjust to personal taste)
4 Tbsps Dijon mustard
1 Jumbo seasoning cube, crushed
(or Maggi chicken seasoning cube, if Jumbo is unavailable in your area)

Method

1.  Mix all the marinade ingredients thoroughly.

2.  Pour the mixture over the chicken and massage well.  Let it set for 15-20 minutes while you heat the grill.

3.  Put the chicken on the grill, turning regularly, until pieces are golden brown and juices run clear.

4.  Serve with attiéké, Ivorian tomato sauce, and Ivorian Salad.  Enjoy!
